Israel Journey #5B – Forest, Sea, Galilee, Oh My!

We are having an incredible first week full of learning, exploring, and new experiences!Today, we started the day with outdoor team building in Ben Shemen Forest where the group really bonded and connected. Then, we departed Jerusalem and headed to Caesarea, a town on Israel’s Mediterranean coast. Here, we got to visit Harod’s Roman amphitheater and grand palace. After checking out the roman ruins, we were all schvitzing so we spent time splashing at the beach before a picnic lunch overlooking the Mediterranean (wow what a view!).

Afterwards, we drove to the Galilee where we viewed the Kinneret, which was breathtaking. After we arrived at our kibbutz, we held our first Kabbalat Shabbat as a group followed by a festive Shabbat dinner. We have already developed such a strong community here and are excited to continue to grow closer in the coming weeks!

We wanted to give a special shoutout to our Luggage Committee: Ben C., Benjamin S., Jake M. and Jason Y.! They packed and unpacked the luggage in the bus three times today with gusto and incredible efficiency. Heroes!

More updates soon!
