Israel Journey #3B – Time Flies When You’re Having Fun

Wow, has time flown by! We can’t believe that we are already into the second week of our program and are amazed by the tremendous growth of our participants. Last week, we focused on unity and our community. This week, our group has focused on what it means to be mutually responsible in the land of Israel.

Our teens volunteered at a packing center at Ra’anana where they packed fresh produce for those around Israel who need it. Not only was this a fantastic service to those around the country, but a concrete example of the theme of mutual responsibility we have been exploring!

Our teens have also shown tremendous bravery in diving into new experiences. Our expeditions have ranged from a physically demanding hike in the Golan Heights, where we traversed the water-filled Nahal Jilaboun canyon, to cultural opportunities such as trying new Ethiopian and Jewish cuisine! Your teens have continued to show they are willing to put themselves out there to understand, experience, and have a blast.

Next week, we head off to the Negev, and then to complete our journey together in the heart of our beloved country, Jerusalem. Here we will share one final Shabbat in the Old City!

Spirits are high and we are excited for what’s to come! Participant Matt L. shares: “I am most excited to float in the Dead Sea next week. It is one of those experiences that defines a trip to Israel and will create memories that are forever.”

Although everyone is quite sad that the trip is already nearing our last week, we know the experiences, the friendships, and the memories will last a lifetime
