Israel Journey #3A – July 4th, Israel Style

We’re one week in and couldn’t be enjoying our journey more. We certainly had a very special (albeit schvitzing) July 4th here in Israel!

After a tiresome day in Caesarea, we had a relaxing day at the Kibbutz Manara guest house filled with pool time and hanging out with our friends. We ended the night with a havdalah ceremony and an exciting boat cruise where we got to meet up with our friends from other Israel Journey #3 buses.

On July 4th, we woke up bright and early to head to Tzfat—the historic center of Judaism’s Kabbalah movement and a center for Jewish life during the Exile Era. Here, we learned about Kabbalah art by meeting with a local artist, visited some beautiful synagogues, and had free time to explore and shop for souvenirs.

We then stopped for lunch before traversing the waterfalls of the Dan Nature Reserve. There we walked around in a relaxing refreshing pond!

Before heading back to the Kibbutz, we embarked on a river rafting adventure and had locals splash us as we glided down the Jordan river.

We then enjoyed a fresh cooked pizza dinner before traveling back to the kibbutz for a 4th of July celebration filled with yummy snacks and sparklers. Finally, we headed back to our rooms for a much needed night’s rest after our long day filled with adventures and memories.

This was an amazing end to our first week and we are ecstatic to continue our journey!
