Shalom! Israel Journey 5C is officially one week into our trip and we are all so excited to share what we’ve been up to. On day 7 of our journey, we started the day with breakfast at our hotel. We all ate a big meal because we knew we had a busy, action-packed day ahead.
We then got on the bus and ventured over to a refreshing water hike at Mrjrasa, near the Kinereet, where we got to meet the other Israel Journey 5 buses! Our original plan was to go on different hike located at the Nahal Jilaboun Canyon on the Golan Heights, but the temperature outside was so hot we had to pivot and quickly change plans. All of the participants were flexible and easy-going about the schedule switch up.
After our cooling hike, we ate lunch at Mayaan Baroch. It was absolutely delicious. Before we knew it, we were on our way to our second hike of the day. Hiking the Benias, in the Golan Heights, was a wonderful experience. All of the participants were able to bond and take in the beautiful scenery together. It made for many picture-perfect moments.
Our last activity of the day was a great one! We all had the opportunity to go rafting in the Jordan river. It was so refreshing and so much fun. Following our rafting experience, we ate freshly-made pizza at the Kfar Blum on the river. We got to choose from a variety of yummy and unique toppings.
It was an amazing start to the new week after a very restful Shabbat on the Kibbutz. After a lot of free time, it was nice to get back together as a full group and participate in fun and meaningful activities.
Participant Sasha F., says that throughout the trip,” It’s been so meaningful to explore my homeland with new Jewish friends!”
We are so excited to continue our Israel Journey throughout the next few weeks as we bond, learn, and travel.
