Israel Journey 3A Update

Dear Family and Friends,

Please enjoy this update from Donna Kontarzhy, one of the teens on our trip!

For the past 2 1/2 weeks in Israel, we have been non-stop enjoying ourselves with our packed schedules that consist of entertaining and adventurous hikes, tours, and etc. As we come to the end of our trip, today on July 19 we headed towards a more important and very informal aspect about Israel and our Jewish connection. We visited and toured Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem. The tour was given with a large amount of detail that was so informal it blew all of our minds and made us feel more connected to the Holocaust than ever before. It was a very emotional and educational experience for us all. Right after, we ate delicious pizza and headed to the Israeli Parliament where we learned about the congress and how the whole legislative and executive branch works. To conclude the day, we visited and toured the Western Wall and made our way to the bottom of of the wall through underground tunnels. These tunnels were amazing , with original stone and lots of history behind them. Israel has been amazing so far, and as we come to a close, I want to point out that each and every one of us feel more Jewish and more connected to the Holy Land than ever before!
