Exciting adventures in Tzfat, Galilee, Golan Heights, etc!

Dear Friends and Family,

On Sunday, we began our day in mystical Tzfat. We met with a talented artist named, Avraham Lowenthal, who shared with us the values of Kabbalah. Then we traveled to Israel’s Galilee region where we completed our first hike to the waterfalls of the Banias. The day ended as we rafted down the Jordan River.

On Monday morning, we ascended to the Golan Heights and accomplished a challenging hike through a canyon. We then visited Kibbutz Ortal for lunch, and learned about this community-minded lifestyle. In the afternoon we went on an adventurous and historical off-road jeep tour through the Golan.

On Tuesday, we started our day volunteering at Pitchon Lev (Open Heart), opening our own hearts to take part in a mitzvah project (community service). Our BBYO participants sorted vegetables and loaded boxes for food distributions, that will be donated to people in need. The group then visited a high school where they took part in a dialogue with Arab-Israeli teens, learning about peaceful coexistence. Together, they moved past their differences and discovered their teenage similarities.

The day ended exploring the ocean caves of Rosh HaNikrah, with a cable car view over the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. We ended the night at our new hostel in Haifa, watching the sunset in the horizon.

We are all excited to take a surfing lesson today! Stay tuned for pictures!
