Western Europe Discovery 2: Update #3

Western Europe Discovery 2
Update #3

Dear Friends and Family,

The time is flying and we are having a great time!

Monday began in Glasgow. We visited an old synagogue and heard from a local Jewish woman. We enjoyed a tour of the sanctuary and learned the history of the shul and Jewish life in Glasgow. After, we walked around the center of Glasgow and had lunch there.

We then got started on a long, scenic drive full of mountains and waterfalls to Ben Nevis and took cable cars up the mountain. We climbed a rocky path to the viewing point and the view of the Scottish Highlands was unbelievable! After driving to the youth hostel in Inverness, we had a dinner at a local pub and finished off the night  hanging out together in the hostel.

We spent another great day in the Scottish Highlands on Tuesday. We departed Inverness for Fort Augustus. We spent two hours rowing across the famous Loch and exploring the shoreline. After a nice lunch, we went to Urqhart Castle, a famous Scottish castle on the Loch. We ended our night with a fish and chips dinner back in Inverness and some souvenir shopping in picturesque downtown Inverness!

More to come… !
