Spain Discovery: Update #5

Enjoy a couple last updates form Spain, written by two of our participants!  What a trip!!

We drove to Córdoba on Friday, July 7th . Once we got there we went to the museum about the Spanish Inquisition and its impact on the Jews. Afterwards, since it was Shabbat, there was a self-led service by members of BBYO Passport. For dinner we ate at a kosher restaurant and had delicious chicken tenders! To end the day we walked back to the hotel for some free time, and then slept late on Saturday!

On our last day in Spain, we woke up pretty early to head off to tour the city of Madrid. To start off the day, we got to view the famous plazas in Spain. We walked around Plaza Espana, Plaza Mayor, and the Royal Palace. After visiting for about an hour, we headed off to some of the shopping streets in Madrid. We bought souvenirs and watched entertaining street performers. Then we had free time to continue shopping and eat lunch in the city. Afterwards we got back on our bus, and drove to the Real Madrid soccer stadium. There we went through a very modern museum with interactive technology about the history of Real Madrid’s soccer team. Afterwards, we got a chance to take photos and view different parts of the stadium, including stepping out onto the actual field and walking through the official locker rooms! After our tour of the Real Madrid stadium we drove to the Prado Art Museum. We had about two hours to walk around and view the historical artwork. Among the artists we saw, some of our favorites include Goya, Velasquez, and Caravaggio. For our last dinner as a group, we enjoyed delicious cod and tuna fish, and topped it off with tiramisu, rice pudding, and ice cream for dessert. Before we headed back to our hotel, we spent time as a group reflecting on our great trip in Spain!!
