Italy Discovery 1: Update #4

Italy 1
Update #4

Dear Friends and Family,

We are heading into the second part of our trip, and sad knowing it will soon come to an end! We are having a blast getting a taste of all these Italian cities (and all the pasta)!

Wednesday morning was a busy day as we only had 1 day to explore the streets of Florence. We started our day early with a pasta making class, learning all about the process of making homemade spaghetti! Next was the Great Synagogue, the world’s most beautiful synagogue! The rest of the day was spent in Florence’s city center, visiting Galleria dell’ Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David statue, climbing the top of the Campanile Tower for a stunning view of Florence, and shopping on Ponte Vecchio. We ended our evening at the hotel for a late but delicious last meal in Florence.

Thursday morning we were back on the bus, preparing for our arrival into Rome. In the morning, we stopped in Pisa to climb the leaning Tower of Pisa and explore the Square of Miracles. In the later afternoon, we were so excited to become gladiators for a day – completing an obstacle course, enjoying a sparing lesson and testing our  skills against one another!

We had a late dinner and then checked into our accommodations at Hotel Pace Helvezia where we wil spend the next couple of nights in Rome. We can’t wait for all that’s still to come… !
