Israel Journey 5C: Update #1

Dear Friends and Family,

Our first update from Israel comes from two of our participants, Ari Chargo and Seth Kuretsky.

Enjoy… !

Wow! We arrived in Israel and never did I expect such an amazing and pretty place! When we arrived in Israel everyone’s jaws dropped from the view, even those who have been here before.

After we arrived, we went out for lunch. What would the Israel experience be without eating falafel and hummus? Along with our craving for authentic Israeli food we enjoyed Aroma Iced Coffee – nothing like we’ve ever had before, truly delicious!

Later that day, we toured the Old City in Jerusalem. We went through the water well and tunnels that they used in 701 BCE. The water was to our knees but it was a nice cool down after the hot weather above. For dinner, we enjoyed Chinese cuisine at the hotel!

The next morning we were able to catch up on some much needed rest. We toured more of the Old City and had some time to eat a lunch of our choice. We also had some time to shop for souvenirs.

Following the shopping, as a group, we toured a bit more. Later that day we went to the Western Wall, also known as the Kotel. This was truly such a special experience for everyone. The Western Wall is such a heart touching place.

At night we drove through the zig-zag roads of the mountains to a kibbutz that held a carnival. This is where our BBYO B’yachad party took place. It was super fun, with great food, henna tatoos, photo booths, bounce houses and more! We can’t and won’t forget the awesome dance party with all of the other BBYO Passport groups in Israel. It was nice to make new friends, and reunite with others!

This trip is off to an unbelievable start – definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity. We are looking forward to the rest of the journey with such an outstanding group of kids!

Shabbat Shalom!
