Israel Journey 3A: Update #3

Dear Parents,

What a wonderful Shabbat we shared together!  During the day, we had a restful time, enjoying the beautiful hills of Jerusalem, swimmimg, and taking part in an afternoon program on Jewish identity. We closed Shabbat with an outside Havdallah service with all three BBYO groups and ended the day with some shopping!

On Sunday, we went to an underground bullet factory from the 1940’s. We then stopped for lunch in Beer Sheva and continued along to Sde Boker where we learned about David Ben Gurion’s vision and role in forming the State of Israel. We then drove to the Ramon Crater and to the kibbutz where we are staying.

Today, we went snorkelling in the Red Sea, followed by banana boating, kayaking and paddle boarding! Our group enjoyed lunch out in Eilat followed by delicious ice cream, too! This evening, we celebrated Josh Parness’s birthday at the kibbutz and then had an evening program of kibbutz jeopardy!

We’re looking forward to the next few adventurous days in the desert… !

Your Staff,
Sunny, Melanie, Aniko, and Ariel
