Central Europe Discovery 2: Update #1

Hello from Prague!

We are all settled in and have been enjoying our time in Prague! We started our journey all together at the JFK airport in New York. Some of the teens had the unique opportunity to form a minyon with a rabbi from Minnesota before we left for Prague.

Once we got off the plane, went through customs, and got our bags (everyone’s bags arrived on time!), and we met our tour guides Gadi and Michaela.

We hopped on the bus and drove right to Prague where we took a walking tour with scenic views overlooking the old city. Some of the teens posed with the Czech guard at the castle before heading to the hotel to get ready for our first dinner together at the Chabad Grill. We ended the evening early so that we could catch up on sleep and prepare for the second full day in Prague.

After breakfast at the hotel, we went to the Jewish Quarter to learn about the history, architecture, and culture of the Czech Jews. We even stepped foot in the oldest active synagogue in Europe.

After lunch and some additional exploring, we sang happy birthday to one of our participants, Jared, and celebrated America’s Independence with a Czech favorite – chimney rolls!

We are forming a great community and are excited to head to our next destination tomorrow morning… Budapest!!
