Trek Costa Rica (Bus B): Monteverde and Zip-Lining above the Jungle!

Greetings from Monteverde! Wednesday was a big travel day for our group. In the morning, we said goodbye to our awesome hotel in Sarapiqui and hopped on the bus to go to the Poas volcano lookout point. Upon arrival, heavy rains and fog prevented us from seeing the volcano crater. We then headed to the city of Sarchi, where we had lunch, explored the downtown area and went on a short tour of the artisan ox cart workshop. We had the chance to do some gift shopping at their store, so hopefully you are all in for a treat upon their return home.

We then embarked on a long, bumpy, winding drive to our final destination of Monteverde. Thursday we started fresh and energies were positive as we embarked for a morning of Zip-lining!

We were impressed as many of your children confronted their fears and completed a 13-leg ziplining course including a Tarzan swing that involved a free drop of several feet. The views were spectacular and the kids truly seemed like they were enjoying themselves. Afterwards, we had lunch in Santa Elena and headed to a snake and frog museum, where we learned about some of the biodiversity in the area. After we returned to the hotel for dinner, we had a guided night walk where we were able to see nocturnal snakes, insects and birds in their natural habitats.

Today we leave for Rancho Margot, where we will observe Shabbat together. It is wild to think about how fast time here has gone by but we look forward to make the most of these last few days together. Have a great weekend!
