Trek Costa Rica (Bus A): Manuel Antonio National Park and Jaco Beach

Wednesday, we spent our first sunny day in the beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park. After a short hike to the beach we got to cool off in the ocean where we watched the monkeys come one by one, stealing our lunch! Before heading back to the hotel, we enjoyed some free time roaming the local marketplace. After a long day in the sun, we enjoyed a barbecue dinner at the hotel.

Thursday, we started off our day with a beautiful ocean kayak tour towards Jaco beach. There we enjoyed a picnic lunch made by our wonderful kayaking staff. Before leaving the remote beach, our teens got to experience clear water snorkeling. After the beach, we stopped off at a reptile observatory where some of the teens got to hold snakes, turtles and even a baby Cayman! Before a long drive to San Jose, we enjoyed an oceanfront dinner where we got to experience authentic Costa Rican marimba music.

Friday we took a short hike up to the submit of a volcano to observe an active hot spring. Then we headed to a shopping mall to eat and shop! After the mall, we went back to the hotel to get ready for shabbat! We attended synagogue in San Jose for Friday night services which was then followed by a beautiful shabbat dinner at the Rabbi’s house.

Saturday we enjoyed a late wake up. We had a nice walk to the Rabbi’s house for shabbat lunch. After that we had a soccer/pizza party with the community members of El Triangulo (a squatter’s community we visited on the first day of the trip).

Sunday, we woke up to a beautiful white water rafting session, this time with class 3 and 4 rapids! We got to relax before our bowling/pizza party. Finally, we enjoyed each other’s company for one last time with a dance party! Pura Vida!
