Stand UP South Africa: Volunteering at the Makwetse School

We spent Monday volunteering at the Makwetse school, where we helped to build a new gate out of wire and wooden poles, paint the gate rainbow colors, water the garden, and paint the brims around what will become the compost. During school break, we had the chance to play with the school children who taught us some of their games and we taught them some of ours.

Tuesday morning began back at the Makwetse school continuing the work we began yesterday. After saying goodbye to the children, we headed to the Elephant Sanctuary where we had a chance to feed, walk, and interact with the elephants. We even got kissed by them! Now we are heading back to the lodge for much needed showers, supper and a night activity about Tzedakah/ charity in the world.
