Pacific Connect: Lake Tahoe and Yosemite

Hello from Yosemite! We are having an amazing time getting in touch with our beautiful surroundings. Although we don’t have service in the park, we are feeling quite connected!

Before we arrived in Yosemite, we had the pleasure of spending a full day in the Lake Tahoe area. Between hiking in Squaw Valley, the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, and swimming in the crystal blue waters of Lake Tahoe, we felt like we were living the life! Our adventures continue at an all-you-can-eat buffet on the top floor of Harrah’s casino right over the state line in Nevada! We definitely had to roll ourselves back to the motel that evening. To end the night, kids enjoyed a dip in the motel pool and some local souvenir shopping.

Before hitting the road to Yosemite, we were excited to kayak and paddle board on the lake. Make sure to check out those awesome photos on Facebook! From there we went on a small nature hike on the beautiful Mono Lake. We learned about different rock formations and geology of volcanoes.

After a few more hours on the bus with snacks and plenty of movie options, we finally arrived at Yosemite! The kids will be “roughing it” for the next 2 nights in “cabin tents” with very limited cell phone use. We’re all so excited to see what this marvelous park has in store for us tomorrow!
