Italy Discovery #1: Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius

It’s the staff from Italy 1, reporting to you from Rome with our final update. These past two weeks have flown by and we feel confident that your teen has made at least 41 new friends (including the staff of course). They have formed memories that will last them a lifetime and have experienced things that have given them the opportunity to grow in ways they would have never imagined.

Each one of your teens has stepped outside their comfort zone and put themselves out there, in order to make this experience an unforgettable one. Over the past three days, we have gotten to see all of the incredible sights in Rome including the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel, The Colosseum, Roman Forum and Spanish Steps to name a few.

For our last Shabbat together, the teens had the opportunity to choose an alternative program including discussions and writing notes to be placed in the Kotel and a traditional Italian kabbalat Shabbat. We also used this Shabbat as a chance to reflect on our experiences together over the past two weeks.

Sunday we traveled south to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. We realized that our trip was similar to the story of Pompeii- we built a flourishing community that laughed together, ate delicious foods, and explored new places together, but in the blink of an eye, the trip is over and we are left with memories, tons of photos and friends that will last a lifetime. We want to thank everyone for following our journey and have deeply enjoyed sharing this experience with your teens!
