Western Europe Discovery #1: Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, and more!

Starting off meeting the rest of the group in London, it was so welcoming because everyone just introduced themselves and everyone was nice to everyone else. Then we boarded our bus and headed to Windsor Castle. One of the things I have been looking forward to has been learning about other people’s cultures and what’s really important to them, and this castle was one of those things.

After exploring the castle, we were able to split up and find what we wanted to have for lunch, where I chose to eat an authentic London meat pie. Later, after walking (trying to keep up) with our tour guide, Gregg, we stopped for a buffet dinner. Finally, we got back to the hotel and pretty much all passed out from a long day of sight seeing.

The next morning we started with a buffet of English breakfast at the hotel then took the tube to Buckingham Palace. On our way there, we made stops in the business bureau and the theater district. Then we saw the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, which was a huge spectacle, including a marching band and hours drawn carriages.

We got back on the tube and headed to Borough Market, which had a very large array of options of drinks, food, and dessert. It was delicious! The ending highlight of our day was taking the London Eye which gave us an incredible view and was also a fun time to just talk and continue to get to know each other.
