Central Europe Discovery #1: From Prague to Budapest

After a long day of travel we finally landed in Prague, and met with our amazing tour guide Moran! Our first stop was walking around old town Prague and then enjoyed a delicious dinner at the local Chabad house. We finished off the night with some ice breaking activities and headed off to bed to tackle the next day.

Waking up feeling well rested, we toured the Prague castle, one of the worlds largest castles dating back to the 9th century. We then walked across the Charles bridge to Prague’s Old Town and left our mark on the famous John Lennon wall. From there, we explored the old town square, enjoying local cuisine and lots of ice cream. Feeling full, we then walked to the famous Prague astronomical clock to watch the hourly ritual.

After that, we climbed the tower and enjoy the beautiful views of Prague. Next, we explored the gothic, old-new and Spanish synagogues connecting us to our Jewish heritage. Feeling hungry, we ate another delicious meal in Prague’s historic Jewish quarter. We ended the night with more icebreakers and feeling excited for the next day. With an early wake up, we excitedly departed Prague for Budapest.

Arriving late in the afternoon we climbed up castle hill to take in the beautiful views from fisherman’s Bastion. Naturally, it was time for another round of gelato, and then onto dinner in the Jewish quarter of Budapest. More to come as we embark on this wonderful and life changing opportunity.
