Italy 2A: Shabbat in Italy

The first week of Italy discovery has been absolutely incredible! We have toured our way through the beautiful streets of Milan, visited Juliet’s balcony in Verona, floated our way through the water-filled streets of Venice, and rafted down the beautiful rivers of Slovenia. We enjoyed many hours in the Jewish quarter of Venice, celebrating Shabbat and learning about historic synagogues. We attended a lovely Shabbat service at an orthodox synagogue, followed by dinner with new friends.

The next night we concluded Shabbat with havdalah conducted by our madrichim and several of us. This past week has been full of memorable moments including bonding with new friends and our madrichim. We have also spent time with both buses together which is nice to get to know more teens. We are currently in Slovenia, spending time together after a long day of hiking, rafting, and exploring. We ate a nice dinner at our alpine resort, and had free time at the pool, or if we wanted, walk outside to enjoy the mountain view outside our windows. We look forward to seeing more of Slovenia tomorrow including, Lubijana, the capital.

More updates to come as we continue to travel Italy. We are excited to see Bologna, Florence, and Rome to conclude our 14 day journey.Weekly update brought to you by: Phoebe Lembeck, Lily Harris, Taylor Chaiken, and Max Gillette.
