Trek West #3: Yosemite National Park and Lake Tahoe

As we have ventured into Northern California, it is incredible to see the landscape change so drastically and to enjoy the beauties that each place has to offer.

We began our exploration of Yosemite National Park by ascending the Mist Trail early Monday morning. On this trek, we encountered three massive waterfalls and ascended approximately 2500 feet! We were exhausted by the end of a hike whose length and rigor we did not anticipate, however, the spectacular views were worth the work put in! We winded down with a relaxing meal at the Half Dome Village cafeteria and a leisurely walk around the grounds at dusk.

On Tuesday morning, we left for Lake Tahoe, stopping in the quaint town of Bridgeport for lunch. We were able to take a quick break from driving and dip in local mineral springs before continuing on for dinner in Lake Tahoe. Our dinner destination had a breathtaking view overlooking the lake – a preview for what is to come tomorrow.

Although much of yesterday was consumed with travel, today we enjoyed a relaxing day enjoying water activities on the lake!
