Stand UP South Africa: Shark Cage Diving in Hermanus

Shark cage diving was an awesome experience. Everyone enjoyed seeing the sharks up close, but almost everyone was a bit sea sick right afterwards. Luckily a hot lunch was provided for us once we reached shore, which most people were able to eat!

After the dive we heard a lecture on shark conservation efforts, and headed towards Hermanus, where we spent our last weekend together as a group. The weekend was a chance for everyone to relax after a very busy trip, and everyone spent their free time in the pool, hiking along the cliff walk, whale watching, visiting the shops around the hotel, and finding great food.

When Shabbat ended we had a group dinner and closed the program with an activity — everyone filled out a booklet about the trip, and handed them back to the staff in sealed envelopes which we will return to the teens this time next year. It seems crazy that today is our last day together in South Africa. We have been so lucky to have been a part of this trip, and particularly to have had he opportunity to become close to each participant. You are all very special people, and we hope to keep in touch with all of you.

The South Africa trip may end here, but or journey together as friends had just begun. Thank you for everything.
